About the role

Performs a variety of work in the general maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities, HVAC systems, electrical trouble shooting of electrical systems and equipment. Uses several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling. Ability to work second shift if needed.
What you'll do
  • Possess as "AVERAGE" knowledge of the central air conditioning plant, the central heating plant and boiler plant, air handling units, pumps, fans, and related equipment.
  • Responsible for inspection and preventative maintenance of HVAC components. Monitoring and balancing of interior air flow and temperature. Operation of computerized building control systems.
  • Location, diagnosis and correction of equipment malfunctions. Investigations of complaints regarding equipment.
  • Monitoring and adjustment of chemicals used to treat various water systems.
  • Assists in acquiring quotes and arranging for services of outside vendors as needed
  • Activates and deactivates building alarms and responds to alarm calls during and after work hours

What you'll need
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of four years of related experience and/or trade school training.
  • Universal CFC certification preferred. Additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
  • Basic MS office skills, daily log sheets/documentation, and responding to emails.
