Typical Work Schedule: Evening & Nights (7pm-7am, 3pm-11pm) (rotating weekends and holidays)

SUMMARY
The Unit Assistant is responsible for providing clerical services as well as assisting in providing patient care and maintaining a safe and clean environment under the direction of a Registered Nurse in accordance with established policies and procedures. This includes:

- preparing, assembling, and updating patient charts.
- preparing documentation and coordinating patient admissions, discharge, and transfer processes.
- greeting individuals entering the unit.
- answering phone calls.
- processing physician orders.
- and much more!

QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School graduate or equivalent required.
2. Satisfactory completion of recognized formal program for nursing assistant/ health care assistant/medical secretary preferred. Medical Terminology course preferred.
3. BLS certifcation required.
4. Pennsylvania state police criminal record check, child abuse history clearance and an FBI criminal history check required.
