Job Description:
I. PURPOSE OF JOB :

Provides clerical services to each Nursing Department to maintain efficient operation. To act as a resource to the Nursing Department as well as other departments throughout the organization to maintain and trouble-shoot equipment. Liaison between internal and external customers, (i.e. Internal: Directors, Managers, both Clinical and Administrative, Patient Access and Registration Departments. External: Physicians, patients, families, volunteers and visitors). Provides direct patient care and performs selected

Therapeutic interventions and diagnostic procedures under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN).

II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
  • Demonstrates technical skills in computer data entry, maintaining patient charts, transcribing orders, Filing and appropriate documentation.
  • Utilizes good communication skills with physicians, nurses, patients, family members, volunteers, and all other healthcare team members in order to achieve excellence in patient care.
  • Promotes patient safety through adherence to protocols, policies, procedures, evidence-based
Guidelines and Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals.

4. Actively participates in and supports departmental and organizational quality initiatives and goals; Collaborates with patients, families, and health care team members in order to achieve excellence in patient care.

5. Maintains competency according to unit specific standards; Provides safe and efficient direct patient care with consideration for age-specific accommodations.

Job Qualifications:
V. QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Education:
  • High School or GED completion.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant documentation preferred.
  • Experience: Varies based on department and position
Keyboard and computer skills
  • Other Skills:
1. Excellent interpersonal skills

2. , Communication and team building skills

3. Certified in B.L.S. for healthcare providers

4. Knowledge of medical terminology

5. Knowledge of computer functionality
