The Opportunity: Unit Coordinator- Cardiac Surgery Step Down- Ellison 8

Why This Role Is Important?

  • As a Unit Coordinator, you will play a critical role in patient care by serving as the central source of information by communicating with patients, families and medical staff. The position requires a high degree of accuracy and strong communications skills.
  • Ellison 8 is a thirty six bed adult Cardiac Surgical Step Down Unit. Patients are primarily admitted post operatively from the Blake 8 - Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Patients are also admitted pre-op for cardiac surgery. Common diagnoses include coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, aortic disease, congenital heart disease, lethal arrhythmias, S/P coronary bypass graft, S/P valve replacement, ACID placement, and permanent pacemaker placement

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Associate Degree.
  • Medical or health care experience desirable, but willing to train otherwise qualified candidates.
  • EPIC experience, or basic computer skills with the ability to learn new systems and procedures
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills and ability to solve basic patient and practice problems
  • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff and providers
