Work hours: PRN: As needed - Variable Rotating shifts; may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays

Here's What You Need

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Unit Secretary experience in an acute care hospital setting a plus.
  • Knowledge of general office equipment, PC's and associated software packages a plus.
  • General knowledge of medical terminology a plus.
  • Previous secretary experience in healthcare environment a plus
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually within 90 Days Required
  • Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.

ORGANIZATIONAL/TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Performs all tasks to meet the needs of physicians, staff, patient, and other customers.
  • Demonstrates acceptable organizational skills.
  • Communicates effectively.
  • Interactions include consideration for patient population specific needs.
  • Takes action to reduce/eliminate patient risks.

PARTNERSHIP:

  • Uses Professional Practice Model philosophy to work in partnership with patients, families, physicians, peers, and all other disciplines.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to changes in schedule and/or workload assignment necessary to meet changing needs of the individual patient or unit.
  • Makes new team members feel welcome and offers assistance with orientation of new employees.
  • Acceptable use of interpersonal relationship skills and communication with patients, families, co-workers, physicians, all disciplines, and other customers.
  • Organizes workload and effectively collaborates with nursing to prioritize care.
