Job Description

Job Purpose: The National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center (NCVRTC) Division is seeking a part time Professor on the Academic Clinician track. This candidate will start at 20% effort and the effort will be increased to 100% (full time0 over the next three years. The duties described below for the part time position will be expanded in scope and quantity as the faculty member’s percent effort increases to full time. Initial duties will focus primarily on: 1) transitioning and expanding their extramurally-funded program of clinical research from their current institution to MUSC; and 2) becoming more familiar and engaged with the clinical scientist-based clinical psychology internship program.

As the faculty member's effort increases: 1) research duties will be expanded to include submitting applications that fund new grants to support his program of research; 2) collaboration with NCVRTC and departmental faculty members on other research projects will increase: 3) leadership activities in the clinical psychology internship program will increase; and 4) clinical and research supervision of clinical psychology interns as well as postdoctoral fellows on the division’s NIMH-funded T32 training grant in traumatic stress research will increase.

It is also expected that the person filling this position will be eligible for licensure as a clinical psychologist in South Carolina and will obtain licensure in a timely fashion.

Effort: 20%

FLSA: Exempt, Monthly

Minimum Requirements:Must hold a doctorate degree to be eligible for this position (i.e. PhD) in Psychology.
