Job Description Summary
Post-doctoral positions are available to be involved in: 1) studying the immune mechanisms of, and the role of gut microbiota in, autoimmune diseases, 2)developing and testing novel cellular and immune therapies to induce immune tolerance against self-antigens and tissue regeneration, and 3) investigating the role of cellular proteins in tumor prevention and tumorigenesis. These projects involve studies using different gene knockout, germ-free and humanized animal models. Gut microbiota-host interactions will be studied using germ-free and conventional animal models. Other studies involve the use of engineered primary cells, human samples, human iPSCs, 2D cultures, and 3D Organoids and in vivo studies using novel animal models. Advanced imaging technologies, and cellular and molecular biology approaches, and conditional knockout mice will be employed in tumor biology work. Candidates must hold a recent doctoral degree or equivalent in biomedical sciences or have completed requirements for such a degree. Candidates with previous research experience and good publication record in respective fields such as immune modulation by gut microbiota, iPSC and organoid culture, immunology, cellular therapy, and/or cancer cell biology will be given preference.

Job Description

Job Duties:
  • Involvement in microbiome related and immunological studies, in vitro 2D and 3D cell culture, generation of iPSCs and organoids, cell engineering, cancer biology work, and experimentation using humanized and conventional animals. 30%
  • Microbiological, Immunological and molecular analyses of mouse and human samples, development of novel therapeutic approaches and testing methods, will be part of the job responsibilities. 25%
  • Data analysis and validation, literature search, preparation of reports and manuscripts, etc under the supervision of the PI. 25%
  • Involve in /contribute to other research projects and share the expertise on experimentation and data analysis with junior members of the lab. 20%
