Job Description Summary
Job Responsibilities:

35%- In direct collaboration with Department Core Directors, develops, implements, and manages the entirety of the Ob/Gyn medical student educational programs including third year, ANMED, research opportunities, visiting, selective, and fourth year learners. Organize, publish, and distribute in corresponding software systems the curricula, program objectives/goals, student learning teams, and educators for the inpatient and clinical services. Ensure curriculum is competency-based, learner-centered and up to date. Knowledge of COM & LCME policies, rules, and regulations to maintain accreditation and be in good standing. Participate in college-wide orientation sessions. Represent the Department of Ob/Gyn at COM educational meetings as well as maintaining and contributing to national, institutional, and departmental committees.

25%- Conduct site visits to MUSC inpatient/outpatient services and clinics related to student education and Women's Health, as of 2024 includes: Cannon, Nexton, Daniel Island, East Cooper, North Charleston, Resolute, SJCH, MUH, and HCC. Establish point of contact (manager/nurse manager) for each site. Through site visits and ongoing communication, ensure each site provides an optimal learning environment including space, infrastructure, other learners, and appropriate staffing. Be able to identify and troubleshoot potential risks which may impede educational experience. Review clerkship expectations and requirements with site preceptor (s), nurse manager, and staff at each site. Orient new faculty, ancillary and administrative staff on departmental goals, objectives, expectations, and grading process. Also responsible for initiation of students into new practice locations as they are added.

15%- Collect and analyze educational performance data. Create comparison data and track across blocks and/or years. Provide educator and program performance reports to key stakeholders, including reports and accolades to educators. Identify problems in the program; review the research literature and identify solutions; implement process improvement plans needed to institute change(s) and monitor the effectiveness of such.

15%- Manage the grading process and ensure timely submission of grades. Includes calculation of clinical evaluation results, recording grades, and submission of grades to the Office of Enrollment Services v Provide evaluation results including NBME score, clinical grade, OSCE grade, student learning team grade and final grade to students at the end of each rotation.

5%- Identify and manage students entering an Ob/Gyn residency including students applying. Responsible for educating and orienting interested applicants on applying and matching into a residency. Will work closely with the course directors, residency student liaison, program directors and program manager to create and publish guides, newsletters, and best practices. Responsible for maintaining faculty advisor/student list and progress of timelines. Will ensure the educational team is notified of changes and updates. Oversees the AHEAD and Student Diversity programs. In collaboration with resident ambassadors and DEI committee, implements a mentor/mentee system which fosters and promotes an inclusive environment. Responsible for funds allocated to AHEAD program and appropriate marketing of.

5%- Work with Education Director and Manager on special projects as needed.
