Job Description Summary
Work with Principal Investigator to develop, implement, and manage a number of clinical trials (corporate and government) at MUSC. This position will direct coordination and implementation of a variety of clinical research projects, including recruitment, screening, data collection, and education of other staff on open protocols. The individual may participate in national meetings and executive conference calls as required by the specific studies.

Job Description

Recruit study participants per study inclusion and exclusion criteria to meet study contract enrollment. Perform clinical assessments for human subjects as required by study protocol. Perform safety assessments to include vital signs, blood draws and lab processing, and other tests as required by the study protocols. Schedule study participants and research personnel for study visits in compliance with study protocol. 30%

Evaluate the effectiveness of research services based upon program objectives and determine ways to improve internal coordination of research and clinical workflow. Review and analyze reports. 15%

Screen appropriate patients in the Emergency Department and other clinics and inpatient units as directed for eligibility per inclusion and exclusion criteria per study protocol. 15%

Complete quarterly, annual and ad-hoc reports as required by the National Institute of Health and other study sponsors. 10%

Manage costs, quality of care and outcomes by controlling supply use, by avoiding unnecessary tests and procedures. Maintain biospecimen sample integrity and storage. Ensure shipping of samples meets sponsor industry standards. 10%

Assist physicians in the development of research protocols and implementation of new research projects. 10%

Monitor and track enrollment for appropriate clinical trials. Perform data entry in CRF and eCRF as required by sponsor. 5%

Maintain appropriate certifications and training for CITI courses and MUSC internal requirements. Perform other duties as needed. 5%
