Salary: Competitive
Job type: Full-Time

Job Description Summary
The Department of Neurology is seeking to hire a fulltime neuropsychologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to provide clinical evaluations to a broad referral base of patients with neurologic disorders, conduct Wada testing, and perform standardized assessments associated with clinical trials. Though the majority of work will occur in an ambulatory care setting, occasional service on inpatient units may be necessary. Demonstrated ability to work within interdisciplinary teams is critical. In addition to clinical duties, the incumbent is expected to contribute to the University’s goals of research, teaching, and community outreach. The position requires completion of a postdoctoral fellowship consistent with Houston Conference Guidelines for board certification in neuropsychology and a license to practice psychology in South Carolina at time of hire. The Department of Neurology at MUSC is a research-intensive group committed to medical discoveries and advances in clinical care. The ideal candidate would have interested in participating in a vibrant academic group and contributing to research efforts. Selected candidates with interest in pursuing their own research projects would be strongly considered.

The position requires completion of a postdoctoral fellowship consistent with Houston Conference Guidelines for board certification in neuropsychology and a license to practice psychology in South Carolina at time of hire. Training and/or experience delivering rehabilitation services for patients with cognitive impairment is highly desirable. There are a number of NIH and foundation-funded studies in the Department examining brain-behavior relationships in neurologic populations using advanced functional and structural neuroimaging methodologies; as such, the ideal candidate will have experience in these techniques that can be leveraged for consultation, collaboration, guiding participants through imaging protocols, and analyzing data. While not a requirement per se, this could be underscored by fluency in programs such as AFNI and MatLab, experience tracing lesions and structures for volumetric analysis, and completion of MR safety training.
