Job Description Summary
As an Obstetrics and Gynecology specialist your clinical responsibilities will consist primarily of seeing Ob/gyn patients in an outpatient setting and providing
admission, discharge, and rounding on inpatients on both the obstetrics (including labor and delivery) and gynecology (including the operating room) services. You
will also be responsible for providing consultative services in the Emergency Department, including the management of Ob/gyn patients with other hospital
services. You will provide the above services Monday through Friday and will be expected to take Ob/gyn call on weekends and nights when assigned or as needed
by the Department. You may also be responsible for traveling to other parts of South Carolina to perform OBGYN/GYN services for service contracts for your
division. While I believe this is a reasonable outline of your expected duties, this could change somewhat depending on operational needs of the division and your
personal and academic goals. All clinical time is guaranteed but any unfunded time for faculty development or education will be based on available funding.
