Job Title: USA Hockey Player Development Manager/IIHF South American Growth Coordinator
Department: Hockey Development
Reports To: Assistant Executive Director of Hockey Development
Location: USA Hockey National Office - Colorado Springs, CO
Basic Function: This individual will have dual responsibilities within USA Hockey and the International Ice Hockey Federation. USA Hockey responsibilities will include management, oversight, and development of USA Hockey's youth programs. IIHF responsibilities will include management, planning and facilitation of events to help South American countries develop ice hockey. This will include approximately 10-15 visits a year for a total of approximately 60 days on-site in these countries. The individual will serve as a leader in the USA Hockey Development Department and within the IIHF. Position requires a self-directed individual with relationship management, organizational, and problem-solving skills. The position requires the candidate to work in a cooperative and collaborative manner, coordinating efforts with multiple stakeholders to carryout events and initiatives for the development of youth hockey.

Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Manage and communicate USA Hockey recommendations to youth hockey clubs of a given geographical region and throughout the United States.
  • Build strong trustworthy relationships within the hockey community to influence change, growth and progress through the facilitation of the American Development Model at all ages.
  • Managing and communicate IIHF recommendations to South American federations and build relationships within developing federations to grow the game.
  • Provide intellectual leadership and player/coach development through the analyzation, interpretation and facilitation of Long-Term Athlete Development techniques
  • Deliver summer programming and coaching support at USA Hockey Player Development Camps

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Five or more years of professional experience in ice hockey is required.
  • Knowledge of USA Hockey's youth hockey structure is preferred.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred.

Skills:


  • Must have excellent leadership, organizational, and management skills.
  • The ability to think strategically, solve problems, and make and timely decisions
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to present publicly.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Work Conditions:


  • Standard office equipment.
  • Job may require event set-up/tear-down, moving boxes in storage or at events.
  • Extensive travel is required.

Salary: $65,000

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado, or open to remote.
