User Experience Researcher Responsibilities


  • Work closely with product and business teams to identify research topics.

  • Act as a thought leader in the domain of research, while advocating for the people who could use our products.

  • Designs studies that dress both user behavior and attitudes.

  • Generate insights that both fuel ideation and evaluate designs.

  • Conduct research using a wide variety of methods, and interpret analysis through the lens of UX, HCI, and social science.

  • Collaborate closely with other UX researchers to leverage and build upon knowledge.

  • Work closely with cross-functional partners (product management, data science, analytics, business, design, engineering, etc) to identify and prioritize knowledge gaps in our understanding of the Meta experience and design research that uniquely contributes to solving for those knowledge gaps.

  • Partner with engineering, analysts' and other technical roles to create and share research.

  • Communicate results and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways.

  • Telecommute from anywhere in the US permitted.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Science, HCI, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Information Science, Economics, Political Science, Mathematics, or related field and one year of work experience in job offered or in a user experience/research or computer-related occupation. Requires one year of experience in the following:

  • 1. Qualitative and user-centered research methods (eg, interviewing, ethnography, co-design, concept-testing)

  • 2. Analytics, project management, and problem-solving

  • 3. Communicating research findings and implications to product audiences

  • 4. Autonomy and independent decision making to weigh tradeoffs and balance demands

  • 5. Generating insights that shape how product teams think about short, medium and long-term product strategy

  • 6. Partnering with product management, content design, design, data science, engineering, marketing, and other technical roles to conduct and share research.
