POSITION SUMMARY

The Utility Attendant assists various departments to transport supplies throughout the warehouse in a timely and accurate manner. This position safely utilizes forklifts, primarily a ride-on pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment to accomplish daily tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Transport freight to and from appropriate locations in the warehouse; this includes moving supplies for all departments and restocking the supply bins
• Safely operate and maintain various forklifts and other warehouse equipment
• Maintains awareness of stock levels and notifies the Safety & Facilities Manager when supplies need to be reordered
• Maintain frequent communication with all leadership to ensure timeliness and accuracy
• Adhere to all Company policies, procedures, and work instructions
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a distribution environment; receiving and/or inventory experience preferred
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Ability to operate various forklifts and warehouse equipment; forklift certification preferred
• Familiarity and ability to follow all OSHA and Company safety policies
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical and complex concepts in a simple and concise way to ensure ease of understanding
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to quickly adapt as business needs change; ability to address difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence
• Customer service-oriented attitude with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations

LANGUAGE SKILLS
• Business Proficiency in English is required

• Requires the ability to regularly lift / carry 50-75lbs. and push / pull up to 150lbs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasional activities may involve exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.
