HDR is hiring a Utility Construction Coordinator to work on an exciting project as part of our PM/CM team in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Duties will include reviewing and recommending utility work schedules
  • Coordinate with the Utility owners during construction to ensure plans are adhered to and schedules are met.
  • Utility permit reviews will include distribution for comments and recommendations for approval after the project has been utility certified.
  • Attend various meetings including pre-construction, progress and field meetings to report on utility work progress and assist/resolve construction issues
  • Assist with Notice of Intent/Delay claims by attending meetings and negotiations
  • Work with the comptroller's office on a monthly basis during the monthly estimates for the utility work by highway agreement.
  • Develop utility work order changes for each project


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Management, or related discipline
  • 4 or more years of experience as either a Utility Coordinator on public works projects or as a Project Manager for a Utility Owner involved in utility design, coordination, and construction of utilities on public works projects. Combination of either position will be acceptable.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with little or no supervision
  • Ability to effectively communicate with multiple parties involved
  • Local candidates preferred

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Microsoft Office product experience
  • General background-related experience
