Piedmont Geriatric Hospital (PGH) is seeking a Boiler Operator to join its growing maintenance team! The individual in this position will be responsible for a broad range of maintenance duties in support of power plant operations, including steam boiler, hot water heating, and emergency power systems. PGH has a unique boiler plant, which functions off of NWSG (Native Warm Season Grasses) biofuel, allowing an efficient, eco-friendly means of providing heat, hot running water, and emergency power throughout the Nottoway Campus.

What is Piedmont Geriatric Hospital?
PGH is a 123-bed, gero-psychiatric hospital, operated by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS). PGH is Virginia's only state Mental Health Facility solely dedicated to evaluation and treatment of persons aged 65 and older. The goal of care is to facilitate discharge to a less restrictive setting by assisting patients to improve and/or maintain their physical, mental and social functioning.

Minimum Qualifications

-Experience involving hand/power tools
-Experience with boiler operations

Additional Considerations

Trade experience of some kind preferred

Ability to operate skid steers, backhoes, man lifts, dump trucks preferred but not required

Licensed or certified in operation of high pressure steam boilers preferred
