Job Summary . • Promptly and carefully sort soiled ware so that it can be put through the dish or pot machine properly. Quickly wash all ware and replace in storage areas as designated. Physical strength and stamina are essential to this position due to the high activity level.• Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.• Keep dish machine properly cleaned and filled with water per hotel standards.• Operate burnishing machine to ensure proper finish on silverware.• Polish silver for proper appearance• Clean Kettles, tilt skillets, pots and pans promptly and completely so cooks can carry out their work.• Empty all trash in service areas at predetermined times and upon request from the manager.• Perform general /routine cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards.• Clean and dry floors to avoid slip/fall accidents.• Separate linen from other debris.• Perform other duties as requested, such as moving supplies and equipment, cleaning up spills, etc.SALARY RANGE: $18.00 - $21.00 PER HOUR Requirement . Lifting objects weighing 50 pounds with the ability to push, pull or transport material weighing 600 pounds through crowded area. Carrying objects weighing 50 pounds for short distances. Walking and standing for a significant period of work shift is required. Physical activates include lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, seeing, hearing, talking, walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, stretching, grasping and holding.• Knowledge of service ware and how to maintain same in order to compliment guest experience. • Ability to push/pull service carts fully loaded with soiled ware.• Ability to read the English language so as to fully comprehend job requests, caution notices and similar written materials.• Ability to transport heavy objects through a crowded room.• Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a minimum of 80 lbs.Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. High school education preferred, G.E.D. accepted. diploma preferred. Previous stewarding experience preferred but not necessary. Prior hospitality experience preferred.
