POSITION SUMMARY : The Utility Worker is responsible for working in all areas of the hatchery, with the primary responsibilities being to work as a chick floor assistant, weekend coverage, and minor repair/maintenance work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned

• Learn to backup chick processing positions and weekend coverage
  • Assists QA with various checks
  • Perform machine round c hecks
  • Make repairs to hatcher and setter door seals, as well as egg buggy wheels
  • Regular work day s will be Thursday-Sunday
  
• Other tasks may be assigned as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

• Ability to lift egg cases weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push/pull 100-500 pounds.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to adapt and learn various positions and procedures.
  

MAJOR JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Notify hatchery management of any machine issue that could effect
chick quality.
Work on Wednesday clean days. Repair farm buggies.
Any other job duties as requested by Hatchery Management.

PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS:
Fill in for Hatchery Jobs during absences.
General Tasks assigned by Management when there are not absences.
