Key job responsibilities

- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (designers, engineering teams, product managers) to conceptualize and develop design solutions

- Contribute to setting UX guidelines and drive cross-team alignment on design direction

- Foster a start-up-style environment where iteration and design ownership are encouraged

- Simplify complex ideas and create intuitive user experiences

- Leverage data-driven insights / feedback to identify opportunities and inform design decisions

- Engage with diverse audiences (end-users to stakeholders) to drive solutions forward

- Develop a shared vision through excellent storytelling, presentation, and interpersonal skills

- Earn the trust of key partners by demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of design experience

- 3+ years of delivering design solutions as a UX designer or interaction designer experience

- Have an available online portfolio

- Experience prototyping (HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, Flash or Flash Catalyst, or Axure)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of mass-market consumer web / mobile products experience

- Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $184,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
