Position Summary

Supervises valet attendants and assists Guest Service Coordinator with operational processes, procedures and issues. Safely park and retrieve vehicles with standard stick (manual) or automatic transmissions. Write vehicle information on parking tickets including damage seen.

Supervision Exercised

Supervised by the Guest Service Coordinator.

Supervises the Valet Attendants and is cross-trained to supervise Transportation Drivers.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Assist Guest Services Coordinator with training, scheduling and other employee issues.
  2. Interviews and hires applicants.
  3. Develops and monitors guest services standards valet attendants are providing guests.
  4. Maintains security controls for the vehicles and keys.
  5. Ensures tips are turned in according to the established tip procedures.
  6. Tracks vehicle information including any previous damage.
  7. Reports any accidents/incidents and/or damage to vehicles utilizing the valet service.
  8. Ensures that valet staff is following the set department standard operational procedures.
  9. Greets and assists guests.
  10. Familiar with the CVPS Valet System, it capabilities, tracking, labor and report functions.
  11. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  1. Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
  2. Good problem solving skills.
  3. Must be 25 years old.
  4. Must be able to present a MVD license record report with good standings.
  5. Must furnish proof of valid personal insurance.
  6. Ability to drive a vehicle equipped with standard transmission.
  7. Ability to provide exceptional guest services.


Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

Required:
  1. High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
  2. Three (3) years' work experience within a valet, transportation and/or hospitality industry including one (1) year in a supervisory capacity.
  3. Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico Driver's License.

Licensing Status
  1. Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
  2. Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.

Working Conditions
  1. Must be in good physical health condition.
  2. Must be able to climb stairs.
  3. Must be able to move quickly and at a constant pace up to 2 hours.
  4. Must be able to lift 50+ pounds.
  5. Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outdoors work is subject to reach extreme temperatures and inclement weather conditions.
  6. Work hours subject to change with overtime work required.
  7. Night driving required.
  8. Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft carpeted floors, cement, asphalt structures and surfaces.
  9. Duties will involve walking, running, standing for long periods of time.
  10. Duties will involve constant sitting, crouching, bending into/ out of operating vehicles.
  11. Specific required movements include the following:
    • Trunk - bend, twist, rotate, push, pull and carry
    • Arms - reach, carry, push, pull, lift, twist, and rotate
    • Legs - lift, push, pull, twist and rotate
    • Hands - grasp, manipulate, bilateral coordination, eye and hand coordination, overall and finger dexterity.
