Validation/Test Technician
Work in a lab environment. This position is for a hardware (HW) and software (SW) qualification effort to support converged infrastructure (CI) and hyper converged infrastructure (HCI) product with road-map and sustaining releases. The role will consist of working hands on in a development lab environment executing test cases. Additional duties will include but not be limited to HW configuration, VmWare installations, CI and HCI solution deployments and test case setup.
Day to Day: Executing test cases, configuring system hardware, software and solution in support of testing.
SELLING POINTS: This validation team will be part of a larger PE engineering team that is chartered to support a larger number of EMC product teams that leverage PE Servers as part of their products and solution. Qualification of pre-released HW and SW components is part of the engineering services that organization offers.
WHAT THEY ARE DOING: Going to be performing server qualification testing for new unreleased HW/SW in an VMware environment, specifically for converged infrastructure and hyper-converged infrastructure products. So typical Q/A skills but with emphasis on VmWare environments. Predominantly will be testing new HW (Drives, SSDs, NICs, et al) and new SW (BIOS, iDRAC, FW for various HW, et al) on existing Dell 13G and 14G servers.
MUST HAVES: Prior enterprise server or storage HW/SW validation experience. Prior Q/A experience in a VmWare environment is highly desirable.
