The Transportation Aide/Van Driver will transport residents to appointments, various individual and group activities.
**Daily Pay Available**
Driver Responsibilities:
- Provide primarily medically necessary transportation in an efficient, cost-effective manner to safely meet residents' needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
- Safely secure residents' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip.
- Report resident medical issues in timely manner.
- Implement transportation schedule and notify nursing and Unit managers of schedule conflicts and/or issues.
- Notify supervisor when equipment in need of maintenance or repair.
- Notify supervisor when there are unresolved conflicts with scheduling.
- Cleaning the interior of the van on a regular basis, assuring the vehicle is presentable for the transport of residents.
- Responsible for ensuring that patients are supervised; safety is maintained at all times; and patients are treated with respect and dignity.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Driver Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CNA license preferred but not required
- Must have a valid state drivers' license.
- Proof of Insurance.
- Must have satisfactory, safe driving record.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
Physical Demands
- Required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers, reach with hands and arms, feel, see, talk and hear. Employee may be required at times to push/pull residents in wheelchairs weighing between 100-300 lbs, including assisting ambulatory residents with entering/exiting the vehicle.
