Job Description Summary
ARRT and ARDMS or CCI Registry or completion of accredited Vascular and Diagnostic Ultrasound program. Prior experience as a Vascular and Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist in a clinical setting is strongly desired. Must be able to produce very high-quality imaging with little supervision. Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment. Must be familiar with age specific criteria.

Job Description

The Vascular / Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist reports directly to the Diagnostic Imaging Manager. Under general supervision, the technologist performs high quality examinations in accordance with established protocols on patient populations ranging from neonate through geriatrics for interpretation by a physician. Must be able perform various Vascular / Diagnostic Ultrasound duties; acquiring high quality images, recognizing abnormal pathology, communicating critical test results to ordering physician, completing worksheets; exporting images for interpreting physician, cleaning equipment and treatment room for next patient, and keep registry current by completing continuing education requirements annually. The technologist exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures, provides patient care; recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures, establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments and the Medical Staff. Performs services “on call” as needed.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Training and Education:
  • Graduation from an accredited Vascular Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or Ultrasonography program is preferred.
  • Equivalent work experience will be considered. One year of training/work experience including a variety of Vascular exams is preferred.


Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:
  • ARRT
  • RCS (CCI) Vascular-RVT (ARDMS) or RVS (CCI)
  • Licensed as a radiologic technologist by the SCRQSA
  • BLS certification required.
