Vascular Ultrasound Technologist - Lead Part-time 20/hrs per week M-F, 8am - 4:30pm

Position Objective:

Performs vascular study imaging, using specialized equipment, to measure, calculate and report pertinent patient data facilitating accurate diagnostic outcomes. Responsible for daily department operations, with respect to maintaining lab accreditation for the system. Performs duties related to the role as Lead Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) for IAC accredited lab, including organizing and running quarterly meetings with provider/staff, handling audit requested by IAC, and maintaining appropriate documentation, etc. to meet IAC, requirements needed for re-accreditation.

Essential Job Duties:
  1. Conducts and documents vascular studies as requested in office. Leads day-to-day operations of the imaging division and serves as a resource to other RVT's.
  2. Works closely with practice leadership to coordinate patient scheduling, ensure timely patient access for appointments and operational efficiencies.
  3. Explains procedure to patients, providing instructions and direct care to ensure accuracy and patient comfort.
  4. Recognizes artifacts, eliminates probable sources and troubleshoots minor equipment problems
  5. Consistently meets department and physician standards, while maintaining quality work and good patient experience.
  6. Processes images acquired from modalities according to established policies and procedures.
  7. Obtains pertinent clinical data adequately as it relates to procedures performed. Analyzes, processes and reports outcomes in a timely manner.
  8. Performs duties related to the role as Lead RVT for IAC accredited lab, including organizing and running quarterly meetings with provider/staff, handling audit requested by IAC, and maintaining appropriate documentation, etc. to meet IAC, requirements needed for re-accreditation and monitors maintenance of the RVT certification for staff.
  9. Collaborate with the billing department on coding and reimbursement matters
  10. Oversee equipment maintenance, upgrades, storage of ultrasound images, and EMR integration.

Educational/Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum 4 years of vascular testing with progressively responsible experience in leading department.
  • Experience in successful completion of IAC accreditation application preferred.

Required License/Certifications:
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification required.
  • BLS Certification (Preferred)
