Vehicle Mechanic

A family owned, single-source service provider of commercial, accounting, marketing and technology services to marine terminal operators, warehouses and logistics companies is looking for someone who holds a TWIC Card to join their team as a mechanic. The mechanic will c ontribute to overall terminal operations by inspecting and maintaining company equipment and vehicles.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform various tasks to maintain vehicle functional condition:
  • Inspecting and testing equipment;
  • Complete preventative maintenance, such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire changes, replacing filters, etc.;
  • Repairing engine failures;
  • Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions;
  • Replacing parts and components;
  • Listening to and understanding operator complaints
• Verify vehicle capability by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems.
• Maintain equipment records by documenting service and repairs.
• Possess a basic knowledge of parts and parts ordering.
• Advance career knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publications, etc.
• Upkeep vehicle appearance by cleaning and washing.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Utilize safe working practices and obey all company safety policies.
• Able to work satellite sites no further than 10 miles travel distance.

Requirements:

• Must possess a valid TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification)
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds
• 2+ years automotive or equipment mechanic experience OR Technical School diploma
