Veterinarian- Urgent Care

Orchard Veterinary Medical Center in Westminster is hiring! We are looking for two DVMs: One to help with our GP clients and a second to help us grow our urgent care services.

We are located right off I-25 and 136th Ave for easy access to Denver, Ft. Collins and Boulder. We have a very fun team that is often commended for our compassion, teamwork, and "good vibes". We are hoping to find a doctor that fits in with our amazing team culture and who enjoys coming to work.

We are happy to consider any experience level, from a new graduate doctor to a more seasoned veteran. And while we primarily treat dogs and cats, we do see some exotics and pocket pets, particularly rabbits. We'd love a new teammate who is happy to treat all of our local critters.

We are a fully equipped hospital with up-to-date diagnostic tools, including:

• Full in-house lab equipment including CBC, Chemistry, T4, TSH, Cortisol, EPOC, PT/aPTT, and urine analysis
• Cloud-based Cuattro radiology system and Vital Rads for interpretation
• Oncura ultrasound machines equipped with 2-3 probes, color doppler, echo measurements, and live support when needed

Additionally, our surgery suite has a dual head, LED light system, drop down O2 lines and surgical CO2 laser. We have a companion, 4b therapeutic laser that we utilize daily. We also offer acupuncture services!

In addition to our GP practice, we have established a fabulous urgent care service for our clients and surrounding communities in northern Westminster. We have a strong working relationship with nearby specialty referral hospitals for transferring patients requiring overnight care.

Associate Position Details:

This is a full-time position with flexible hours. We are open 8am-noon on Saturdays and all DVMs rotate Saturday shifts for 1-2 per month. No on-call required and we respect your days off!

Urgent Care Position Details:

The ideal urgent care candidate would have experience in urgent care, though not necessarily ER. Basic surgical skills are a must! The ideal schedule includes M-W, 9am-9pm and every other Sunday 9am-9pm. No overnight shifts and no on-call!

The Veterinarian is responsible for providing high quality care to our patients while also developing rapport with their owners. In addition to physical examinations, surgeries, and dentistry, client communication and client education are of the upmost importance. It's important that SVP Veterinarians treat each pet and client like part of the family.

Salary range of $100,000-$130,000/year with an average production percentage of 20-22%

Description

• Develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs and wishes; perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that will deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
• Explain physical examination findings and communicate to the client a diagnosis of the pet's problems; generate and present a treatment plan for the pet to the client; educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products.
• Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols; assist colleagues in follow-up and future management of the patient.
• Stay up-to-date with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, attend Continuing Education meetings.
• Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service.
• Positively represent the hospital in the professional community and to the general public.
• Treat every client like family and each patient like your own pet.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university
• Licensure in good standing to practice in the state of in which applicant is applying
• Professional comportment and appearance, with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, friendly attitude
• The ability to make decisions and communicate clearly and effectively with fellow team members
• Respect for and willingness to work with clients and their pets
• Compassionate team player who can uphold great reputation with clients
• A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine, upholding the veterinary code of ethics
• Proficiency in surgery a plus
