About the job

As a Vice President and General Manager, you will lead the Merchant Shopping organization within the Commerce product area. Reporting directly to the Vice President and General Manager of Commerce, you will be a key member of the organization's leadership team.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving the product and technical strategy for Merchant Shopping, overseeing global engineering and product teams. You will utilize experience building and developing highly successful organizations, and technical acumen to drive product and innovation, and will bring knowledge of the online retail and e-commerce ecosystems. You will understand Google's business challenges and advise appropriately on how to take advantage of new market opportunities.

People shop on Google more than a billion times a day - and the Commerce team is responsible for building the experiences that serve these users. The mission for Google Commerce is to be an essential part of the shopping journey for consumers - from inspiration to to a simple and secure checkout experience - and the best place for retailers/merchants to connect with consumers. We support and partner with the commerce ecosystem, from large retailers to small local merchants, to give them the tools, technology and scale to thrive in today's digital world.

The US base salary for this full-time position is $550,000 bonus equity benefits. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategic outlook and delivery for the Merchant Shopping business. Design and lead a multi-year roadmap, balancing short and long-term product and technology investments.
  • Advise on, build, and scale industry-leading solutions while leading a team across commerce categories, all with a shared desire to excel for consumers and help our merchants grow.
  • Manage, lead, and grow a global team spanning engineering and product management that define, build, and deliver Google Commerce applications to delight a global user base.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, provide leadership, and drive engagement across functional teams (e.g., Product, Engineering, UX Design, Finance, Marketing, Comms, etc.) and build relationships, partner with, and influence other Product Area leads and their teams across Google.
  • Maximize trust in high-quality products and experiences that are safe, secure, legally compliant, and privacy-preserving.
