Description
The Vice President of Marketing and Communications will be a member of Ocean's senior leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO and responsible for leading and developing the organization's marketing, advertising, communications and community relations programs. This person will work closely with other leaders in the organization's corporate and regional offices and local hospitals to develop and implement marketing and communications plans that support the company's strategic initiatives and performance goals. The senior leader will ensure the marketing strategies and objectives are data-driven and process-oriented to enable successful support of the multi-state and multi-location organization.

This person will work closely with other leaders in the organization's corporate and regional offices and local hospitals to develop and implement marketing and communications plans that support the company's strategic initiatives and performance goals. The senior leader will ensure the marketing strategies and objectives are data-driven and process-oriented to enable successful support of the multi-state and multi-location organization.
Essential Functions:
- Develop strategic marketing plans to support the organization's mission, strategic goals and growth objectives, reviewing brand positioning and competitive market research.
- Work with Executives, VP of Market Development and local market leaders to establish annual marketing and communication plan budgets; establish KPIs and ROI metrics to measure marketing program effectiveness; and oversee budget throughout the year by balancing expenditures against volume and census expectations.
- Lead the development and implementation of a research-driven, evidence-based marketing strategy to support growth goals; work closely with health information systems team to analyze and leverage referral, admissions and market data.
- Oversee all paid and organic marketing efforts by internal team and external partners, including branding and positioning, digital, advertising, media, out-of-home and experiential.
- Working with local market administrators, establish and monitor performance and development goals for sales and marketing teams, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities and conduct annual performance reviews.
- Oversee development of all digital and print communications including presentations, marketing collateral materials, signage, reports, written materials, referrer materials, website and new media to ensure brand consistency and integrity.
- Develop systems to streamline and measure the effectiveness of marketing and communication programs for maximum productivity and ROI.
- Work with Executives, senior leaders and external partners to develop an internal communications strategy and oversee further development and execution of internal communications program, including:
- internal functions such as Human Resources, Compliance, Safety, etc.
- external functions such as sales, business development, referrer communications, investor relations; etc.
- Produce scheduled and ad hoc communications and content for CEO such as company updates, newsletters, industry commentary, videos, etc.;
- Manage external PR partner to execute annual thought leadership plan to elevate company leaders and subject matter experts and support meaningful relationships with target audiences.
- Together with external PR partner, serve as company spokesperson and point of contact for media interactions that promote or impact the organization.
Requirements
Educational / Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in marketing and/or communications leadership roles, with experience managing a geographically dispersed team.
- Health care marketing and communications experience required, behavioral health or acute care experience highly desired.
- Experience in supporting company growth objectives and developing marketing strategies to support the growth of patient referrals, admissions and revenues.
- Experience managing teams (internal or external) or technology related to referrer email marketing programs and list building:
- CRM systems and funnel design, integration, execution and measurement.
- Digital ad programs (Google, social media advertising, geofencing, etc.).
- Online reputation efforts (review management, search engine optimization, etc.).
- Awareness of health care restrictions for behavioral health within these platforms is a plus.
- Solid knowledge of SEO, web analytics and Google optimization.
- Proven history of connecting marketing strategy to actionable and measurable benchmarks to achieve desired business goals.
- Exceptional leadership and people management abilities.
- Growth-oriented mindset, with the ability to support service line development as the company continues to evolve and expand its behavioral health offerings.
- Proven track record applying subject matter expertise (technical skills) to address a core business need and developing a process/system/solution, as well as applying collaboration and influencing skills, to deliver repeated/scalable positive results.
- Strong interpersonal skills, judgment, and an ability to collaborate with and influence executives, senior leaders, managers, and the general organizational population.
