The VP of Brand Strategy is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive brand strategy and vision for Hilton Grand Vacations (HGV). This role is both strategist and storyteller with a strong consumer orientation, passion for HGV’s brand and with a track record of building new ways of working, solving problems, and inspiring and influencing cross-functional teams. The brand strategy will be aligned with the company’s overall financial and strategic growth goals as outlined in HGV’s 5-year plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drives brand growth, enhances brand equity, and ensures brand consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Develops and implements the company’s brand strategy in concert with operations, sales, marketing and support departments. This includes ownership of brand architecture and nomenclature, brand positioning and competitive differentiation, brand messaging, corporate visual identity, brand research and analytics, and brand approvals for new projects.
  • Coordinates with the Strategy and Finance teams to ensure the work of Brand Strategy serves to support our 5-year growth plan and initiatives and contributes to regular reporting as needed to the business, executive leadership, and the board of directors to track progress against goals.
  • Leads external agency(ies) to conduct brand audits, including current brand state, competitive landscape, consumer research, verbal/visual/digital audit, evaluation of brand architecture, competitive landscape, use of corporate brand versus property and sub-brands, overall review of operations (resort, marketing, sales) from a brand perspective, consumer research.
  • Ensures brand cohesion/indoctrination of the HGV brands across the organization.
  • Works collaboratively with HGV’s Creative teams to ensure brand vision is carried out in design and execution of copywriting and design.
  • Provides actionable recommendations rooted in research for new brand platforms, story, personalities, promise and Mission, Vision, Values.
  • Refreshes visual identity as needed and determined by research, business input and timing.
  • Develops a metrics-driven decision making and tracking process while balancing the company’s desire for breakthrough/innovative creativity.
  • Develops strategies and activations to enhance the company’s public images and coordinate with appropriate team to execute these (may include Marketing, Sales, Resorts, Partnerships etc.).
  • Own and steward the brand strategy budget.
  • As this is a new function, VP will be responsible for hiring, developing and leading the team to build and execute our brand strategy (see below).
  • Leads team towards high-performance and ignites talent by mapping developmental roles and assignments for self and members of the team. Provides coaching to enable team to hit performance goals and improve potential.
  • Embraces projects outside of the defined role with a strong work ethic and adaptability towards change rooted in an entrepreneurial, strategic and creative approach.

  • Completes all required Company training/compliance courses as assigned.

Key Skills:

  • Leadership experience working within a creative agency setting and/or running a creative team at agency or in-house
  • Leadership at the director and VP level with experience running teams as well as within a highly matrixed or customer focused environment
  • Proven track record of working cross-functionally and within operating departments
  • Experience working with and presenting to executives
  • Experience in the timeshare and/or hospitality industry whether in-house or agency
  • Knowledgeable in areas of innovation and new technologies


Experience Required:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 10+ years of related experience
  • 5+ years of management or supervisory experience
