Firm Risk Management

Firm Risk Management (FRM) supports Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, operational, model and other risks.

Wealth Management (WM) provides a comprehensive array of financial services and solutions to individual investors and small to medium-sized businesses and institutions covering: brokerage and investment advisory services; financial and wealth planning services; stock plan administration services; annuity and insurance products; securities-based lending, residential real estate loans and other lending products; banking; and retirement plan services.

Background on the Position

This Vice President role is within U.S. Banks Enterprise Risk Management function. The primary objective of the role is to monitor adherence to the U.S. Banks Issues Management Framework Policy and Procedure U.S. Banks Framework. The role requires stakeholder engagement across Firm Risk Management, Wealth Management and as well as with other stakeholders that support the U.S. Banks including senior management.

Primary Responsibilitie

> Monitors alignment of U.S. Banks Framework to the Global Framework

> Prepares and presents meeting materials to senior management on the current state of adherence to the U.S. Banks Framework

> Supports regulatory examinations and reviews with a focus on ensuring regulatory expectations are addressed on a holistic and consistent basis

> Reviews and provides quality assurance of risk management deliverables submitted to regulators and Internal Audit Department

> Synthesizes thematic risk themes to management and key stakeholders to drive awareness and help anticipate regulatory concern

Qualifications:

> Bachelor's degree or equivalent, ideally in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law or similar

> 10+ years of experience in the Financial Services industry (Regulatory, Risk or Internal Audit background)

> Enterprise Risk Management experience

> Experience working at a banking regulatory agency, such as the Federal Reserve, OCC, FDIC, SEC, FINRA, and CFTC, working knowledge / familiarity with the US Prudential and Capital Markets regulations would be desirable

> Experience in regulatory interaction and issue management processe

> Excellent influencing, negotiating, and collaborating skills with the ability to build strong internal network

> Strong oral/written communications skills with the ability to present to a wide range of stakeholder

> Problem-solving skills and attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure

> Project management experience would be desirable

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $190,000 year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
