A career as a Vice President - US Corporate DCM - Private Placements on the US Debt Capital Markets team at National Bank means serving as the subject matter expert on US Private Placements for both, corporate issuers and project finance sponsors. In this role, you can use your US debt capital markets knowledge and expertise to have a positive impact on the organization.

Your job

- Prepare and present US private placements market insights and recommendations to clients

- Originate, structure and execute US private placements transactions

- Support DCM colleagues in New York, Toronto and Montreal and other professionals at the bank with US private placements market insights and information

- Provide US debt capital markets knowledge and expertise to Canadian and rapidly increasing number of US clients

- Educate Canadian-based Bank colleagues on US financing alternatives for their clients

- Deliver optimal capital solutions and provide insight across markets, balancing issuer and investor objectives

- Provide advice and help structure initial public offering of new issuers, including rating agency considerations, and their subsequent offerings

- Support seasoned issuers with their issuance program, marketing efforts and on-going market insight

- Develop direct relationships with decision-makers on investor and issuer side

- Identify, quantify and develop further avenues of growth within US markets, consistent with National Bank risk culture and strategy

- Supervise and mentor junior members of the team

NBCFI's US Corporate Debt Capital Markets ("DCM") group is engaged in advising, structuring, and originating debt securities across a broad range of Canadian corporate issuers. The group is actively involved in executing investment grade and high yield transactions in both the public and private placement markets to institutional and retail investors in the US. You will be part of this team, reporting to the Managing Director, Head of Debt Private Placements.

Prerequisites

  • Strong knowledge of financial services industry, products and services
  • Knowledge of industry rules and regulations
  • Ability to think strategically and develop a deep understanding of client & business needs
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Min. 6 - 8 years of experience in the USPP market, preferably on the "sell" side
  • US FINRA licenses - series 7, 63 and 79 strongly preferred
