Thank you for your interest in an internship with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. It is our goal to provide you with hands-on experience and knowledge useful in competing for jobs in the baseball industry, beginning with Summer Collegiate Baseball. We will also work with you to fulfill requirements for college credit if necessary. Our internships are a great learning opportunity where previous experience is not always necessary. The Rafters are a part of the Northwoods League, a summer collegiate league located in the midwest. Each summer the Rafters host 36 games at Historic Witter Field and bring in over 35,000 fans through the gates.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and visionary Baseball Video Director to lead the video production team and oversee all aspects of video content creation for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. As the Video Director, you will play a crucial role in capturing the team's on-field action, behind-the-scenes moments, and promotional materials to engage fans and showcase the team's brand with critique from the Northwoods League and ESPN+. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in video production, a deep understanding of baseball, and the ability to lead a team to deliver high-quality and compelling video content. Key Responsibilities:

1. Video Production Management: Lead and manage the video production team, including camera operators and other personnel, to ensure smooth and efficient content creation.

2. Game Coverage: Direct a 4 camera live broadcast for all home games on the Northwoods League TV Network, with some games airing on ESPN+.

3. Behind-the-Scenes Footage: Coordinate the capture of behind-the-scenes footage during practices, training sessions, and team activities to provide fans with exclusive access.

4. Editing and Post-Production: Supervise the editing process to produce engaging and impactful video content, including game highlights, player features, and promotional materials.

5. Content Strategy: Collaborate with the marketing and promotions team to develop a comprehensive video content strategy that aligns with the team's brand and engages the fanbase.

6. Equipment Management: Ensure all video equipment is properly maintained and operational, coordinating repairs or upgrades as needed.

7. Sponsor Integration: Work closely with the marketing team to integrate sponsor messaging and branding seamlessly into video content.

8. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with coaches, players, and front office team staff to understand the team's objectives and create video content that reflects the team's culture and values.

9. Compliance and Rights: Ensure all video content complies with league regulations and copyright laws, obtaining necessary permissions for music and other copyrighted materials.

10. This is not an all-inclusive list and you will be assigned additional team duties to ensure a positive fan experience, facilities cleanliness, and everyone's safety.

Requirements:

Video Production Experience: Proven experience in video production, including filming, editing, and post-production, preferably within sports or live events.

Baseball Enthusiast: A deep understanding of baseball rules, game dynamics, and player positions to capture and highlight key moments effectively.

Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management abilities to guide the video production team and foster a collaborative and creative work environment.

Creative Vision: A keen eye for visual storytelling and the ability to craft compelling narratives through video content.

Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, etc.) and familiarity with various camera equipment and technology.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members, coaches, and players.

Project Management: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

Innovation: A mindset to explore new video techniques, technologies, and trends to keep the team's video content fresh and engaging.

Flexibility: Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel, to cover games and events.

Educational Background:
Pursuing a degree in Film Production, Broadcasting, Journalism, or a related field is highly recommended and preferred but not mandatory.

Duration of Commitment & Compensation:

This is a 3 month (Mid-May through Mid-August) summer internship position. Compensation and academic credit options can be discussed during the interview process.
