Virtual Server Administrator (Secret Clearance)

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Virtual Server Administrator to support a network operations program for Navy/ Marine Corp intranet in Quantico, VA . The team is seeking an individual with a dynamic skill set in network operations and end-user support for more than 400,000 hardware devices and 800,000 users in the U.S. and abroad.

Clearance: Secret clearance required

Location: Quantico, VA

Responsibilities of the Virtual Server Administrator:
• Perform daily server checks and complete reports and offer solutions to any alerts or errors that present themselves. Confirm backups are completed according to the customer's needs.
• Ensure all systems, network, and data users are in compliance with the Information Assurance (IA) policies and procedures. Take the necessary steps to rectify any compliance issues that present themselves.
• Research any vulnerabilities found from Retina security scans and apply patches to resolve.
• To maintain compliance, apply security patches as well as implement security measures as necessary, according to the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE), Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA), Operational Directives (OpDirs), and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) security standards.
• Utilized VMware vSphere vCenter and SCCM to manage multiple ESXi and AHV hosts; datastore clusters, and virtual machines (VM)
• Apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) on USMC hardware and software to meet DISA security requirements.
• Monitor, maintain, and upgrade the NIPRNET and SIPRNET networks servers as well as hardware storage systems.
• Use the Remedy Ticketing System to troubleshoot customer issues, document actions taken, and route tickets to other sections as needed if unable to resolve the problem.
• Utilized VMware vSphere vCenter and SCCM to manage multiple ESXi and AHV hosts; datastore clusters, and virtual machines (VM)

Qualifications of the Virtual Server Administrator:

• Secret clearance required
• 5+ years of IT experience
• Experience with Virtual Server (VMware or comparable) and Windows System Administration
• Experience supporting VMware/ Virtual Server and Windows Server troubleshooting, configuration, patching, and day-to-day administration
• Experience utilizing Remedy, ServiceNow, or other ticketing systems
• IAT II certification required (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+CE, CND, CAP, CASP+, CISM
• VMware (VCA/VCTA) certification
  • Must obtain VCP certification - 6 month waiver

Compensation of the Virtual Server Administrator:
• Total compensation based on experience level - $80,000 - $95,000
• Full Benefits, PTO/Holiday, 401K Match
