Department Summary

The Department of Information Technology and Decision Sciences (ITDS) is comprised of two academic disciplines, Information Systems and Management Science. The ITDS department has 43 research and teaching faculty whose mission is to conduct cutting edge research and prepare the next generation of information systems, management science, and business analytics professionals. Our department offers degrees at the bachelor's, master's, and PhD levels. Five of our degrees are STEM-designated - BS and
MS in IS and BBA, MBA, and MS in Business Analytics. We also offer PhDs in Information Systems, Management Science, and Information Assurance. ITDS has a solid track record of producing well-prepared, motivated, and, ultimately successful business professionals and academicians.

UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. Position Overview

The Information Technology & Decision Sciences (ITDS) Department in the G. Brint Ryan College of Business at the University of North Texas, a Carnegie R1 university, seeks an individual for a visiting faculty position in Information Systems with an ability to teach and develop undergraduate and graduate Information Systems courses, make contribution to curriculum development, make high-quality intellectual contributions in those or closely related fields independently and with faculty colleagues and/or doctoral students, advise and mentor students, and render service to the department, college, university, and profession, all commensurate with their rank.

An offer of employment for this position will be made dependent upon available funding.

Minimum Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a PhD in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science or a closely related field, (or at least a defended dissertation proposal and a very high probability of graduating by June 30, 2024), or a combination of a doctorate degree from an accredited institution, and a Master's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems or IT management from an (AACSB) Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business accredited institution.

Three or more years of teaching, management, engineering and/or consulting experience related to IT development and management. Interest in teaching courses related to IT management, IT strategy and IT project management.

Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong preference for candidates with extensive IT management and leadership experience. Strong preference for a proven teacher with experience teaching undergraduate and graduate Information Systems courses. Experience with enterprise-scale Artificial Intelligence solutions and other emergent IT is a plus. Experience teaching courses related to IT management, IT strategy and Information Systems capstone courses is a plus. Experience developing courses, curriculum, and/or teaching cases is a plus. A track record of conducting discipline-related research independently or with colleagues and/or doctoral students is a plus.
