Visual UX Designer, Devices Design Group

Our design studio is looking for an exceptional Visual UX Designer to join our growing Alexa UX team in a role that will directly shape the look, feel and personality of Echo Show, mobile and AI experiences that will reach millions of customers worldwide.
Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate for this role will have a keen eye for elegant, modern design, and UI patterns. You think holistically, and craft the "why" of all that we ship - advocating for your design solutions by putting them in context of business and customer goals. You have a strong understanding of visual systems and best practices, including layout, typography and interface design. You are at ease both visualizing an experience in the abstract and then driving that vision into concise design deliverables and hands-on building with engineering teams. You can present your ideas confidently in creative reviews, drive innovative design solutions, and elevate the visual experience of millions of Alexa customers around the world. You will concept and craft unique and compelling visual designs for Alexa experiences, collaborate with interaction designers, researchers, engineers and product managers through the design and development lifecycle. As a tastemaker and storyteller, you will advocate for design excellence - contribute to product vision, and define visually compelling UI designs.

About the team
The Devices Design Group (DDG) leads user experience (UX) design innovation for Echo, Fire TV, Fire Tablets, and more. We work on the Alexa app, designing on-the-go productivity and entertainment experiences. Our team is meeting the future head-on through our Devices Human Interface Guidelines and product strategies. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of design experience
- 3+ years of delivering design solutions as a UX designer or interaction designer experience
- Have an available online portfolio
- Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Figma, ProtoPie, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, InVision, or similar
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of mass-market consumer web / mobile products experience
- Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs
- Experience in visual design expertise demonstrated through mockups and style guides
- An exceptional portfolio that demonstrates visual craft, vision storytelling, art direction and design systems thinking.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $94,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $184,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
