Summary

Reporting to the Chief Informatics and Technology Officer at Moffitt Cancer Center, the VP of Information

Technology/Chief Information Officer (CIO) provides operational and strategic oversight, direction and

decision-making for information systems and services. The CIO has accountability for formulating and

implementing operational strategies to achieve departmental goals and the cancer center's system-wide

strategic plan in support of Moffitt's mission, vision, values, and goals.

The CIO is a member of the senior leadership of Moffitt's new Center for Informatics and Technology,

composed of three departments: Information Technology (IT), Clinical Informatics, and Cyber Security,

and led by the Chief Informatics and Technology Officer. The CIO collaborates with these leaders and

the Chief Data Officer to accelerate Moffitt's strategic plan by delivering and integrating transformative

technology. The CIO has the dual responsibility to maintain and incrementally improve core technology

systems and platforms while also leading and supporting digital transformational activities.

Minimum Experience Required
• Minimum 10 years experience leading Information Technology and Services or comparable

function.
• Experience within an integrated delivery system, academic medical center or an equivalently

complex field in which IT supports highly diverse, specialized user communities. Has deep

understanding of systems, operations, and work at all levels of the IT enterprise.
• Experience leading and/or supporting system-wide digital transformation efforts in health systems, regional care centers and physician's groups. The CIO also helps establish Moffitt as a national and international leader in digital technologies through presentations, publications, and other means.

clinicians, and research, throughout the organization, both clinical and research, to achieve the ultimate

goal of providing the highest quality of care.
• Strong organizational skills to develop the appropriate governance and IT structure and ensure that

communication with key stakeholders is consistent and timely.
• Demonstrated ability to build and drive IT agenda throughout a matrixed organization such as an

academic medical system.
• Decisiveness and willingness to act after considering input from appropriate stakeholders.
• Proven skill in large project management, contracting, general management, strategic planning,

program development, analysis and negotiations.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and information to a non-technical audience.

Preferred Experience

Previous CIO/Regional CIO or VP level experience in an NCI-designated Cancer Center.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Business
