Overview

The VP, Commercial Strategy Effectiveness provides direct leadership for key strategic business processes in the SGWS "Go-to-Market" (GTM) model-including route-to-market strategy implementation, commercial operations and structure alignment, sales compensation standards and cost-to-serve modeling.

This position works closely with the Regions, Dedicated Divisions and State teams to provide support in the translation of the SGWS GTM strategy into operational action within the Company's core business model.

This role leads day-to-day management within the SGWS Commercial "SWAT" team. The SWAT team provides direct support to the Region and State teams on a project-to-project basis depending on the specific GTM need. Support could vary from direct day-to-day project execution and/or higher-level strategy and guidance.

Primary Responsibilities

• Accountable to support Corporate, Regional and Dedicated Leadership for program management and execution on market-level strategic optimization and performance improvement efforts, including but not limited to:
o Salesforce and Commercial Operations Optimization: Route-to-Market design, sales planning/execution, sales force size/coverage, org. structures, roles/responsibilities, etc.
o Customer/Account Modeling and Analysis: Account segmentation, channel strategy, cost-to-serve analytics, ROI, etc.
o Performance Management and Efficiencies: Compensation/incentive design, development of KPIs, measurement, tracking, etc.
• Collaborate with the Divisions, Corporate and the Transformation Team on the development and implementation of effective business intelligence strategies including route-to-market, data analytics and other data resources to increase effectiveness of market strategies.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 12-15 years of relevant experience
• Able to obtain and meet industry licensing requirements as needed

Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience in a Commercial Sales, Commercial Operations, Commercial Strategy and/or Trade Development role with exposure to Sales and Supplier Leadership
• Possess the ability to take initiative, pro-actively look for solutions, work and manage projects within tight deadlines, and communicate to project leadership any challenges/issues in a clear and timely fashion
• Experience in reengineering, revenue enhancement, cost containment, and restructuring projects
• Demonstrate strong critical thinking capabilities and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable interpreting and manipulating large amounts of data
• Must demonstrate a structured, analytical thought process
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills
• Must be able to sustain performance under conditions of stress-such as tight deadlines and detailed questioning

• Critical nature of this job may require extended hours, overtime and weekends
• May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
