The Vice President of Construction, Facilities, and Energy will oversee all aspects of construction, facilities management, and energy initiatives across our network of approximately 1400 store locations. This role will lead the planning and execution of new store construction, remodels, special projects/brand rollouts, as well as the ongoing maintenance and energy management of our facilities, including corporate offices.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with the Director of Construction, New Stores, and Remodels to establish annual budgets for remodeling, new store construction, and special projects.
• Evaluate the performance of external vendors, ensuring cost-effectiveness and service quality.
• Strategically identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering, effective vendor management, competitive bidding processes, and evaluations of insourcing/outsourcing.
• Engage in constructive negotiations with landlords in collaboration with Regional Vice Presidents of Real Estate, the Legal team and Construction Directors on lease agreements.
• Work closely with store design partners to efficiently execute projects.
• Lead various facets of facilities maintenance, including preventative programs, janitorial services, waste management, HVAC and electrical repairs, and energy management systems.
• Manage large budgets for both capital expenditure and operational expenses while maintaining brand standards and adhering to budgetary constraints.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and ongoing education to both a field based team and headquarters team.
• Travel to critical job sites to liaise with general contractors and vendor partners as needed.
• Forge strong partnerships with HR to address corporate facilities needs and collaborate with real estate and store design teams.
• Establish and maintain relationships with landlords across all 50 states.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as active listening abilities.
• Experience in energy management, including energy procurement and building controls, is advantageous.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of construction experience, with expertise in tenant improvement negotiations.
• Proficiency in estimating, budgeting, and value engineering.
• Ability to review, modify, and plan from construction documents and project schedules.
• Skilled in conducting bid analysis.
• Experience managing multi-facility, multi-project, and geographically dispersed teams.
