The Vice President of Development, Community Engagement and Government Affairs is responsible for developing and executing strategies to effectively manage the mixed-use development's relationships with government entities, community organizations, and the broader public. This role requires a deep understanding of public policy, government processes, community dynamics, and stakeholder engagement.

The VP plays a critical role in shaping the mixed-use development's public image, fostering positive relationships with stakeholders, and advancing its policy objectives in a dynamic and challenging environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Government Relations:
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage with local, state, and federal government officials, legislators, and regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments that could impact the mixed-use development's operations or objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key government.

Mixed Use Development Community Relations:
  • Cultivate positive relationships with community leaders, organizations, and grassroots activists.
  • Identify community needs and develop initiatives to support social responsibility and corporate citizenship in the mixed-use development plans.
  • Respond to community concerns and inquiries in a timely and transparent manner around the mixed-use development.
  • Assist in the coordination of the sports complex lease amendment negotiations.

Strategic Planning and Leadership:
  • Develop long-term strategic plans and goals for the mixed-use development community engagement.
  • Collaborate with senior executives and other departments to align government affairs and the mixed-use development community engagement strategies with overall organizational objectives.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in government relations, public affairs, or community relations roles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes at the local, state, and federal levels.
  • Strong network of contacts within government agencies, legislative bodies, and community organizations.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex issues and influence diverse audiences.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with experience managing teams and driving results in a fast-paced environment.

Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate trends and identify opportunities.
