The Global Quality Leader in a semiconductor factory is responsible for leading the quality function to ensure that all products meet or exceed customer expectations and comply with regulatory standards across all global operations. This role involves strategic planning, leadership, and hands-on management to drive continuous improvement and maintain the highest quality standards in the semiconductor manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

1. Quality Strategy and Leadership:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive global quality strategy and framework that supports the organization's quality goals and objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the quality assurance and quality control teams.
  • Foster a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence throughout the organization.

2. Quality Management System (QMS):
  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS), processes, and initiatives to ensure continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other relevant standards, regulations, and certifications.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of the QMS to identify areas for improvement, ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures, and drive corrective actions.

3. Product Quality and Compliance:
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing product quality and process efficiency while making sure all products meet or exceed customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Oversee product inspections, testing, and validation processes.
  • Manage customer quality audits and compliance with regulatory requirements.

4. Continuous Improvement:
  • Implement and lead continuous improvement initiatives such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Total Quality Management (TQM).
  • Use data-driven approaches to identify and resolve quality issues and process inefficiencies.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive action programs to address quality issues, reduce errors, and drive process improvements.

5. Supplier Quality Management:
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality standards are met throughout the supply chain.
  • Develop and manage supplier quality programs to ensure high-quality materials and components.
  • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to evaluate and select suppliers based on quality performance.
  • Conduct regular supplier audits and implement corrective actions as needed.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and customer service, to integrate quality into all stages of product development and production, and to establish and maintain quality control processes, procedures, and metrics.
  • Participate in new product introduction (NPI) processes to ensure quality considerations are incorporated from the design phase.

7. Metrics and Reporting:
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality, such as defect rates, yield, customer satisfaction, and audit results.
  • Prepare and present regular quality reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Identify trends and insights from quality data to inform strategic decisions.

8. Customer Interaction:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns and complaints.
  • Lead efforts to resolve customer issues promptly and effectively.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction through proactive quality management and communication.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in quality management.
  • Preferably industry experience: semiconductor, electronics, optics
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role with a track record of driving quality improvements and operational excellence in a global environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality management systems and methodologies, such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, Six Sigma, Lean principles, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • In depth knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and industry standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze complex quality data, identify trends, and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to drive collaboration from all levels, influence, and foster a quality-focused culture across multiple functions and regions.
  • Experience with quality management software and tools, such as statistical analysis software, root cause analysis, and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) systems.
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Manager, Six Sigma Black Belt) is a plus.
