Enterprise Risk Management is responsible for the Risk Framework Management and ensures that the policies and tools to identify, assess, manage, report, and govern risks and controls are consistently applied across the organization.

The VP, Risk Management Framework and Enhancement is a new role that will be a leader within the team and will contribute to enhancing the risk management framework and tools to make sure they are fit for purpose and adopted across both non-financial and financial risk types.

As our VP, Risk Management Framework and Enhancement you will:
  • Partner with colleagues in the first and second line of defense to drive the consistent adoption of risk and control assessments, control management practices, and issue management procedures across financial risk types
  • Evaluate whether role holders in the first and second line of defense are managing risks and controls in line with the Risk Management Framework and associated policies and procedures, with a particular focus on financial risks
  • Review existing risk management frameworks, policies, procedures and GRC system capabilities to ensure they are fit for purpose to manage both financial and non-financial risks and propose updates to improve consistency across risk types
  • Develop and deliver training on the risk management framework and policies for identifying, assessing, managing, reporting, and governing risks and controls
  • Identify enhancements to enterprise-wide reporting to holistically report on the US risk and control profile across both financial and non-financial risks
  • Assess policies and frameworks for managing risks and controls against regulatory expectations and industry best practices and proposes changes, where appropriate
  • Collaborate with global colleagues to implement group-wide enhancements to risk management frameworks in the US and to influence changes to global policies and system to meet US needs


For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $148,300 and $222,500.

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

You'll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Financial Services in a Risk, Compliance, Policy, or related role
  • Strong knowledge of Risk Management Frameworks, Internal Controls, Governance Risk and Compliance systems. Familiarity with US regulatory expectations for strong operational risk and internal control environments a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to present across different levels of the organization and through different formats (written reports, powerpoint, verbal presentation, etc). Policy writing experience a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships and influence stakeholders across different organizational units and across countries
  • Analytically capable with an ability to review, interpret, and summarize broad and complex information
  • Strong teamwork, organization, time management, and complex problem solving skills
  • Sound judgment, keen sense of urgency, and high level of professional and personal integrity
