About the job

As the VP of Strategy and Operations for the ML, Systems, and Cloud AI (MSCA) organization, you will enable the cross cutting and horizontal teams to deliver infrastructure to our customers. This includes leading product and business operations, Technical Program Management, the Chief of Staff office, and other horizontal teams. As VP, you will be a critical thought partner to the MSCA leadership team responsible for defining and delivering on the long-term horizontal roadmap and vision in close collaboration with key stakeholders. You will be responsible for leading the business cadence (planning and business reviews), analyzing key strategic business priorities and decisions, and driving operational excellence for the MSCA business areas. You will partner with Engineering and Product leadership and cross-functional teams and Partnerships to execute on complex projects and drive the growth of Google Cloud.

As part of the MSCA leadership team, you will use your leadership skills and program management and execution experience to mobilize cross-functional teams, predict and deliver solutions on time, and at scale. You will also help the organization make decisions using data and build solutions that accelerate our customers' success in the cloud. You will be responsible for building and managing the organization and your passion, technical and business depth, and excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills will empower our teams and rapidly establish trust amongst a diverse set of stakeholders and customers.

Setting vision and direction, improving productivity, quality standards, resolving systemic problems, identifying trends and implementing change are all keys to success.

The US base salary for this full-time position is $550,000 bonus equity benefits. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a consistent scaled strategic narrative across all MSCA teams, synthesizing major communication decisions between senior management and the broader organization, and ensuring strategy and priority alignment.
  • Establish/run a solid business cadence, driving regular business reviews with executive stakeholders, annual strategic planning, HC/budget management, conflict management, organizational communications, running programs to improve growth, training and development, etc.
  • Manage/lead critical strategic initiatives across MSCA, developing compelling and insightful recommendations to the Google Cloud leadership team.
  • Lead MSCA-wide projects, both short-term deep reviews and complex cross-functional multi-disciplinary projects, from start to finish, structuring and executing analyses required to develop recommendations, and communicating findings to senior management.
  • Strategically partner closely with engineering leadership and GMs to ensure alignment with engineering and product priorities. Be responsible for cross-GM planning, execution, operations, and cross-data efforts.
