Position Summary

This position serves as the strategic and business leader who is accountable for all aspects of the PROENERGY's corporate technology, which includes enterprise systems, information technology, cybersecurity, and operational technology. This role will be responsible for leading strategic planning, architecture, and planning of systems, infrastructure, and security for the business. The Vice President of Technology is also responsible for determining and developing appropriate information systems plans based upon overall strategic plan of Company. This position holds the primary accountability for developing and monitoring the information technology tactical plan, heavily focused on continuous improvement of business processes.

Position Responsibilities
  • Responsible for defining, refining, and executing a strategic roadmap for the Company's information systems and ensuring information systems are aligned with business objectives to grow revenue, deliver the highest client service levels and drive operating efficiencies.
  • Direct the strategic development, implementation and oversight of processes that assure integrity and timeliness of data, thereby providing the customer with actionable information that leads to sound decision making.
  • Develop short- and long-term vision and strategic plans in alignment with and support for the Company's strategies and goals, business plans, opportunities, products, and operating requirements and efficiencies; seek funding for technology driven initiatives that have strategic value and attractive rates of return; conduct ongoing strategic sourcing to identify the most cost effective, efficient and appropriate utilization of internal, contracted and outsourced functions including systems, operations, maintenance and support;
  • Strategize and evaluate the organization's technical landscape, formulating services, platforms, and technologies to be introduced for the organization
  • Direct the coordination of architecture design from security, data, infrastructure and application domains, ensuring the alignment of strategies for each area
  • Direct and coordinate development and production activities of management Information Systems of the Company. Responsible for program change request, maintains mainframe and network systems, and all mechanical and electronic information processing operations to meet the requirements for internal control and the generation of reports required by management.
  • Consult with management to determine information requirements of the Company determine priorities of new projects and discuss system capacity and equipment acquisitions.
  • Provide direction and advice on the use of information technology suggesting innovative approaches to assist businesses in meeting their goals and objectives by understanding the businesses' strategic, tactical and operational plans.
  • Direct the IT operations to meet scheduled output requirements consistent with optimum utilization of personnel, equipment, and facilities at the lowest cost of operation. .
  • Chairperson of the IT steering Committee which assists in setting the current and future IT direction for the Company.
  • Prepare and submit operating budget. Manage planning and spending within budget parameters.
  • Collaborates with department heads involved with proposed cross-functional projects to ensure efficiencies and success.
  • Develop and maintain the IT portion of the Company's overall Disaster Recovery Plan to minimize the risk of business interruption, data loss, or corruption of data created by a disaster scenario.
  • Manage a performance enhancement culture by actively coaching and mentoring direct reports, providing regular feedback and developing employees for wider roles and responsibilities to foster professional growth and development
  • Is responsible for the proper application of established Company employee relations, policies, wage and salary adjustments, administration policies, and safety/health regulations.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or IT Information Systems, B.A. in management information systems, math, engineering or related field required. Masters Degree in Business or Information Technology or Computer Science preferred.
  • 15 or more years of technology leadership experience and extensive experience and expertise in information systems. Experience in the management of enterprise technology including programming, computer operations and network administration.
  • Technically sound with the ability to lead/manage the technical, operational and application efforts of the information systems function in support of the Company's various businesses in a highly competitive and information-driven industry.
  • Extensive executive management experience including dealing with budget, vendors, and helping create a positive work environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management or building system solutions and/or business applications.
  • Proven success in building a strong technology team.
  • Experienced in project management; Agile experience preferred.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Articulate and able to communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven success in turning a technology vision into policies and standards that enable the whole business to operate from a consistent platform that supports integration of systems across functions and business units.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Great Plains a strong plus.
  • Proficient in the use of various MS Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Proficient in the use of a variety of general office equipment and skilled at typing at a speed necessary for successful job performance.
  • Knowledge of communication principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of principles of business letter writing and report preparation.
  • Knowledge of correct English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • Knowledge of basic business arithmetic.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationship with the public and co-workers to
