• Compensation: Target base salary ~$70K - $75K+

Position Description: The Warehouse and Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of material handling, fleet management and tool-related operations within the 60ksqft shop. This role ensures the efficient scheduling of deliveries and pickups, fleet maintenance, receiving and tracking of purchased goods, outbound shipments, inventory management and the fulfillment of material and tool requests. The role also includes purchasing shop supplies, safety training and personnel management. It plays a critical part in the day-to-day operations, directly supervising logistics, materials management, tool control, and personnel to maintain a seamless workflow and uphold safety and quality standards. Some specific responsibilities include:
Management & Leadership:
• Ensure delivery schedules are consistently met and optimized.
• Implement and maintain an effective Fleet Management Program.
• Evaluate and manage personnel to maximize their skills and contributions.
• Uphold and enforce quality control standards across all areas.
Scheduling:
• Collaborate with field Foremen and Project Managers to coordinate and schedule delivery dates and times for materials and supplies to job sites.
• Arrange and allocate personnel to meet delivery and operational needs.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in the Shop Schedule spreadsheet.
Materials Processing:
• Develop and maintain documentation for the staging of purchased goods.
• Ensure inventory levels of consumables are sufficient to meet demands.
• Coordinate the gathering, staging, and loading of material requests for field use.
Tools Management:
• Oversee the tool control program, including tool room operations, tool tracking, purchasing, inventory, repairs, and related activities.
• Coordinate the gathering, staging and loading of tools for field and shop use.
Shop Safety:
• Ensure the shop provides the safest possible working environment for all employees.
• Continually assess and address unsafe actions or conditions.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with all company safety plans and policies.
Shipping Coordination:
• Arrange and manage the shipment of goods and materials through external freight or delivery services.
• Provide timely tracking and proof of delivery information to relevant parties.
Receiving Oversight:
• Supervise and assist with the receipt of deliveries, ensuring accurate documentation and timely processing. Inspect delivered goods for any shortages or damages, and promptly address any discrepancies with carriers.
• Coordinate the correct unloading and placement of materials to minimize unnecessary handling.
Inventory Control:
• Maintain optimal inventory levels of tools, consumables, life safety items, and PPE, adjusting based on workload.
• Support the annual fiscal inventory process and assist Accounting with vendor-related inventory information.
Purchasing:
• Issue Purchase Orders for tools, repairs, PPE, consumables, and shop supplies as needed.
Compliance Management:
• Ensure all company drivers, vehicles, and transportation practices comply with Local, State, and Federal DOT regulations. Monitor and manage job-specific vehicle permits, badging, and registrations.
Fleet Maintenance:
• Oversee the assignment, upkeep, preventative maintenance, repairs, and overall management of all company vehicles.
Tool Room Management:
• Manage all aspects of the Tool Room, including inventory levels, fulfillment of requests, restocking, organization, tool assessments, repairs, and access control.
In order to be successful in this role, you should be adept at managing all aspects of logistics and material management in a warehouse environment. A keen eye for process optimization is critical. The expectation will be for you to maximize effectiveness of existing (and any new) tracking / inventory management software.
