Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor the Warehouse Assistant will assist with the warehousing and distribution of all parts and supplies for the Facilities and Operations department. Assists with the modification, creation and updating of the inventory records in the inventory management system. Prepares stock accounting documents. Warehouse Assistant will also assist with basic fleet maintenance. Maintains a professional, cordial working relationship with vendors to facilitate effective processing while following all university and state purchasing guidelines. Provides a high degree of customer satisfaction and responsiveness to requests for products, supplies, and equipment.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience in a stockroom and/or warehouse environment.
• Ability to drive a variety of vehicles including box trucks.
• Experience with shipping, receiving, and inventory control procedures.
• Automotive repair knowledge.
• Customer service experience in dealing with the public, vendors, and customers both inside & outside the organization.
• Experience making deliveries, loading and unloading product in a safe manner.
• Knowledge of storage/ handling techniques and safety regulations.
• Experience assisting with inventory reports and spreadsheets, requisitions, invoices, and shipping logs.
• Demonstrated knowledge of computers, calculators and routine mathematical calculations as they relate to weights and measures of inventory, and online purchasing.
• Experience with Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite or similar system and programs.
• Ability to communicate effectively and be a team player. Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

Associates Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting or related field.
