BASIC OVERVIEW

The Maintenance Technician is the systems owner for all production areas and is responsible for eliminating maintenance and breakdown-related losses. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for building capability in Operating teams. Also including the following:
  • Active participation and leadership in team meetings
  • Oversee the coordination of Planned Stops in the assigned area.
  • Owns assignment of maintenance resources to execute planned stops and BDE process, including execution of corrective action across all relevant lines.
  • Spokesperson for the maintenance group during all plant discussions.

Technical expert in the assigned area, including mechanical, electrical, and control systems, and a thorough understanding of the process.

SHIFT SCHEDULE
  • Days: Monday - Thursday, 7AM to 5:30PM. This position may require scheduled overtime.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own PM systems for the Line, focusing on Maintenance Planning and Scheduling and Breakdown Elimination.
  • Drives results in Planned and Unplanned Downtime and owns:
  • Maintain & Repair costs for the line
  • % Planned Maintenance and PM/PDM compliance.
  • Breakdown reduction
  • Technical expert of related equipment and discuss, coach, and train technicians and operators on this equipment.
  • Perform all the duties of a senior mechanical/electrical technician at the highest levels of technical proficiency
  • Participates in CBM Programs
  • Participates in the development and owns portions of the TPM Program.
  • Represent the maintenance team in the daily meetings. Provides performance data for selected machines, communicates action plans, and completed work effectively.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum:
  • Technical degree/trade certification OR
  • 5 years of equivalent technical experience in manufacturing required

Preferred:
  • Associate's degree in a technical discipline, preferably in Industrial Maintenance/Technology.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Minimum:
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings to TS promptly.
  • Clear ability to relate to and motivate people and effectively train.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and CMMS Systems.
  • VFD's/3 Phase Power
  • Warehouse Conveyance

Preferred:
  • Experience operating within a formalized Continuous Improvement Environment (MSE, TPM, Lean Manufacturing)
  • PLC/ Instrumentation TS
  • Warehouse Conveyance

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs.).
  • Frequent pushing/pulling (50-200 lbs.).
  • Frequent handling/gripping/bending/stooping.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights off a ladder or platform, climb stairs, leaning over equipment.
  • Ability to stand and / or work on feet for extended periods (minimum eight hours in one shift).
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasional activities may involve exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.
