You will also have access to our comprehensive benefits and competitive pay in addition to growth opportunities and excellent retirement options.Job Summary:As a key member of our shipboard project team, the Warehouse Specialist & Ship Support Driver performs a variety of warehousing and logistics duties crucial to naval operations support. This role requires a thorough understanding of our storage plan and the ability to safely transport materials to and from the ship.ResponsibilitiesJob Responsibilities:
- Warehouse Management:
- Verify materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting any discrepancies or damages
- Route materials to prescribed storage locations
- Store, stack, or palletize materials in accordance with established storage methods
- Conduct regular inventory checks and rearrange stored materials as needed
- Examine stored materials and report any deterioration or damage
- Remove materials from storage and prepare them for shipment or delivery to the ship
- Transportation and Delivery:
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport materials between the warehouse and the naval ship
- Ensure all materials are securely loaded and unloaded
- Adhere to all security protocols for accessing the shipyard and naval vessel
- Inventory Control:
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing materials
- Participate in regular inventory audits
- Use inventory management software to track stock levels and movements
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety procedures in both the warehouse and shipyard environments
- Wear appropriate safety equipment at all times
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Communication:
- Coordinate with project managers and ship personnel regarding material needs and deliveries
- Report any issues or discrepancies promptly to supervisors
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of warehouse experience preferred
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check for shipyard and vessel access
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and basic computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs regularly, and occasionally up to 100 lbs
- Forklift certification a plus
