Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Four to six (4-6) years of progressively responsible manufacturing/service experience in aviation or related industry.

Position Purpose:
With minimal direction, serve as the point of contact at the assigned company facility for administration of warranty/customer satisfaction claims. Ensure they are made in a fair and consistent manner. Assist in designing training materials for use by all personnel that administer warranty and customer satisfaction claims. Train lower level Warranty Specialists and roll down training materials to all personnel at the facility involved with warranty transactions. Support continuous improvements to the corporate warranty process. Prepare reports that identify major contributors to warranty cost and address the need for corrective action with Warranty Supervisor. Audit high dollar charges to warranty accounts, correct as necessary.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
  1. Serve as the point of contact for customers and employees at the assigned facility to ensure the fair, consistent and timely resolution of warranty/customer satisfaction claims.
  2. Maintain database of all claims processed with pertinent data parameters including: date received, from whom received, aircraft serial number, customer, and description of claim, disposition made regarding claim, date closed and comments. Include reason for delay in closing all claims over two weeks old. .
  3. Actively participate in training sessions and conference calls among all personnel in the Warranty organization.
  4. Create reference documents for use by Warranty Specialists when administering customer claims. Update on a monthly basis and distribute to all personnel involved with the assignment of no charge job charges.
  5. Approve invoices within appropriate guidelines received from Gulfstream Authorized Warranty Repair Facilities and process them for payment.
  6. Perform research of work orders and interface with technical personnel as necessary to arrive at the proper determination on claims being disputed by customers and for input to queries received from other Gulfstream facilities or Gulfstream Authorized Warranty Repair Facilities.
  7. Advise the Supervisor of conditions where it is felt that a supplier should be responsible for costs and initiate action with the appropriate person in Purchasing.
  8. Assist Finance with month end analysis as required. to achieve reconciliation of consolidated results.
  9. For site specialists, ensure that all project and primary job charges are accurate before invoices for no charge work to customers are sent to Savannah Warranty department.
  10. Identify high dollar and repeat conditions causing warranty expense and report them to the Supervisor.
  11. Accomplish random audit of labor transactions (service/completion) charged to warranty accounts spread out throughout the month on various documents. Correct and forward results by organization to the Warranty Supervisor.


Additional Functions:
  1. Provide recurring training to employees at the assigned site who are involved with the assignment of no charge job charges as required. .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  1. A high level of computer literacy including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience in Gulfstream systems preferred.
  2. Exceptional interpersonal written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and present responses to customers on sensitive issues.
  3. Knowledge of standard shop practices preferred.
