Water Resources Planning and Management:

Assess water availability, demand, and usage patterns.

Conduct studies to analyze water resources systems.

Evaluate the impact of population growth and climate change.

Develop long-term plans for sustainable water management.

Implement water conservation measures and evaluate water infrastructure projects.

Hydraulic and Hydrological Modeling:

Use sophisticated computer models to simulate water flow in rivers, streams, and other water bodies.

Predict flood risks, evaluate water distribution systems, and design stormwater management solutions.

Water Supply and Treatment Systems:

Design and oversee the construction of water supply systems.

Develop plans for water extraction, storage, and distribution.

Ensure communities have safe and reliable water resources.

Design and implement wastewater treatment facilities.

Environmental Impact Assessment:

Assess the environmental impact of water-related projects.

Technical Writing and Communication:

Write engineering design reports, construction specifications, and implementation plans.

Collaborate with government agencies, environmental scientists, and stakeholders.

Proficiency in Tools and Software:

Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and working knowledge of ArcGIS.

Create, edit, and work with Civil 3D surfaces, points, corridors, profiles, and section views.

Organizational and Team Skills:

Multitask and prioritize efforts.

Work independently or within multidisciplinary teams.

Field Work and Travel:

Willingness to travel for assignments, including field work across the Pacific Northwest or Intermountain West regions.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.

PE required in Washington, Oregon, or Idaho.

Minimum of 7 years professional experience with civil, earthworks, stormwater and surface water projects, preferably those involving aquatic restoration.

Ability to prepare engineering design plans, construction specifications, and construction cost estimates.

Strong technical writing skills with experience writing engineering design reports, construction specifications, implementation plans, and various resources agency correspondence reports.

Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and working knowledge of ArcGIS.

Strong knowledge and the ability to create, edit, and work with Civil 3D surfaces, points (survey, LIDAR DEM, point cloud data, etc.), corridors, profile and section views, grading objects and breaklines, as well as laying out, dimensioning and detailing engineering design drawings.

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize efforts.

Extremely responsible and equally suited to working independently or within a multidisciplinary team consisting of engineering, biology, ecology, and geomorphology professionals.

Able and willing to travel for assignments, including multi-day field work assignments across the Pacific Northwest or Intermountain West regions.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with hydrologic analyses related to stream gage data, rain gage data, regression analyses, peak and low flow estimates, and flow duration statistics.

Experience using hydraulic/hydrologic modeling software such as HY8, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, Hydraflow, HEC-SSP, and HEC-HMS

Experience with 1D and 2D hydraulic modeling.

Experience using sediment transport modeling software in riverine environments.

Experience with construction or construction oversight of aquatic restoration projects.

Current knowledge of preeminent instream design techniques and practices.

Pay Range: $40-46/hr
