Water Resources EIT

The primary responsibilities include:

  • Create planning level, preliminary, and detailed designs of water focused systems under instruction from a Project Manager or person in responsible charge
  • Prepare deliverables for water or water resources focused systems, analysis, modeling, and study-level reports, determine appropriate design methods, and deliver an outstanding project deliverables


H&H Modeling Responsibilities:

  • Working with the project team to analyze data and apply hydrology and hydraulics modeling techniques and water resource engineering.
  • Typical project work includes analysis of urban drainage systems to characterize frequency and magnitude of capacity limitations, and subsequent development of cost-effective solutions to reduce flooding and/or discharges of pollution to ambient waterways.
  • Typical tasks include application of commercial and in-house software to analyze data, develop and calibrate hydrologic and hydraulic models, application of models to develop and evaluate control alternatives, and periodic documentation of methods and results in written reports and verbal presentations.


Design and other Responsibilities:

  • Project work can also include water resource engineering design including preliminary quantity take-offs, preparing site civil drawings under the supervision of a Professional Engineer
  • Project work can also involve analyses of drinking-water distribution systems.
  • Occasional field work with trips to project sites is also possible.


Preferred Qualifications

  • EIT and on path to PE is strong preferred.
  • Familiarity with GIS tools (ESRI products)
  • Familiarity with hydraulic modeling tools such as HEC-RAS and EPA-SWMM
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD (BIM)


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, standard CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling software
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
